With these uncertain times, our priority is the health, safety and wellbeing of the children in our care, families and staff. We are operating and following regularly updated government guidance and additional measures in line with the latest guidance from the government and Public Health.
Access into the Nursery
We are only allowing staff and children into the Nursery. We are asking if parents can please drop off and collect their children at the nursery entrance and remain at least 2m distance from other parents. We have an A-frame outside to encourage the procedure.
If a child or member of staff shows symptoms of the coronavirus such as a high temperature, new continuous cough or loss/ change in smell or taste, we will ask if the member of staff or child not come into the setting until they have either completed self-isolation in line with government guidance or have had a test and tested negative.
If a staff member or child becomes unwell and shows symptoms of the coronavirus during the day we will ask if the staff can go home and if a parent can come and collect their child immediately.
If any results are positive we are required to inform Haringey Public Health. Government guidelines do not state that staff have to be routinely tested however it is recommended. Please see www.gov.uk/coronavirus for more information.
New children attending the Nursery
We are offering Virtual tours via Microsoft Teams for the Tottenham Hale site, and before 22nd February 2021 will be offering onsite tours at the South Tottenham site.
If you would like to be booked in for a tour at either Tottenham Hale or South Tottenham, please contact the office. If you attend the South Tottenham site please can you wear a face mask and sanitise your hands on entry.
We are still accepting admissions but will settle children in without their parents. We have started this since we reopened in June 2020 and children have settled in quite well. We will continue to show parents via the Famly app how they are at the Nursery and will be at hand to answer any questions that you may have.
We are keeping up to date with updates from the government so have temporarily suspended all open days. We will inform you of any changes.
Safety measures in place for children
Staff will wear PPE when in very close contact such as at drop off and pick up times when changing nappies and if a child becomes ill during the day.
Staff regularly clean and disinfect surfaces and objects frequently being touched by the children. We have removed all soft furnishings to prevent cross-contamination and ensure we are continually promoting good hygiene such as washing the children's hands properly and regularly throughout the day.
Communication with parents
We are continuing to give a high standard of education to the children and have continued with planned themes and activities. We are still informing parents of their child's days through the Famly App. If there is anything that needs urgent attention, we will call or vice versa. Parent meetings are done via Microsoft Teams or over the phone. We will continually update parents with any government guidance changes and any amendments for the Nursery.
Thank you for being so supportive during this time. Please keep safe
