Working with the Community
We believe that it takes a village to raise a child, and we always encourage parent partnership when it comes to your child's development. Below are a few things that we are currently doing to work with the community:
- Monthly Visits to Priscilla Wakefield Nursing Home - Usually every month we go and visit the residents at the Nursing Home. From the current research on the relationships between the elderly and young children, we thought it would be a good idea for us to spend some time with them. We go and sing with the residents, listen to the residents read, and do some art activities. This has been put on hold since COVID19 but we still keep in contact with the Nursing Home and send them cards and paintings for them.
- Give leftover food to food banks - Instead of throwing food away, staff will either go around Haringey and give the homeless the food or give it into a food bank.
- Cooking with Hale Delights in Hale Village - Hale Delights allowed us to come and cook some yummy pumpkin cakes. Looking forward to our next cooking activity once everything is back to normal.
These are only a few things that we are currently doing. We would like to do more, so if you have some ideas please contact us.
